Green

If nature
has a favorite color, it must be green. Many names for green
come from plants, among them fir, mint and fern. Because it is
so much a part of the natural world, green looks at home in almost
any scheme, especially one that includes warm wood. In the company
of yellows, peaches and pinks, green exerts a cooling influence.
Green is just as appropriate with blues and violets, hues on
the same side of the Color Ring. Although it is a secondary color,
made up of equal parts of primary yellow and blue, green is so
ubiquitous in decorating that it is sometimes referred to as
"the fourth primary" and is often included in palettes
of red, yellow and blue. |
